Second chapter of “Palm webOS: Developing Applications…” is now available

There is a new chapter available from O’Reilly, but you have to have access to Safari Books Online.  The chapter is titled “Application Basics” and it shows you how to create applications and talks about programming in the webOS environment.

webOS Eclipse Plug-in Released

The people over at PalmPreSchool have released a plug-in to give user a taste of the webOS environment. You need to be using the Eclipse IDE to play with it. You won’t be able to run anything, but you can create sample application and get a feel for the environment.

As stated earlier, it looks like the official SDK will run with Eclipse, so maybe this is a good time to get started on learning the ins and outs of the Eclipse IDE.

Good article on the Pre at Gizmodo

A lot of the stuff I have seen and read seems have been “look but don’t touch”…unless you work for Palm or Sprint.

March 12: Palm-Sprint Pre Webcast

Palm and Sprint will be holding thier first of many webcast on the Palm Pre. It looks like they may be covering a lot of information. Hopefully they will talk more about the SDK too.

This is an invitation only event, so we will have to find out the details from someone else.
